Sheriff Leon Lott announces the arrest of Antoine Mobley (45) in an over night incident that led to an officer discharging his firearm.
On January 3, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 10 block of King Arthur Ct for a home invasion. On arrival, Deputies learned the suspect had fled; K9 deputies began to track the suspect, during this time the suspect was identified. It was discovered he was out bond had an ankle monitor. Deputies located the suspect, Mobley inside a vacant residence located at the 200 block of Westbridge Road, he had barricaded himself inside one of the rooms.
Despite many commands to get Mobley, to peacefully exit, he continually made threats to kill deputies and to burn the house down with deputies inside. While deputies attempted to talk to Mobley, he opened the door and threw an object that he had set on fire at K-9 Specialist Cody Sox, at which time he fired one shot at Mobley.
Negotiators arrived on scene and attempt to communicate with Mobley, to no avail. He threatens the use of multiple gallons of gasoline along with the fire. The Special Response Team is successful in using less lethal tactics to get Mobley to exit. As he begins to exit, he changes his mind and as he tries to retreat back in the home, K9 Nevada is able to apprehend him and he is taken into custody.
Mobley was transported to a local hospital where it was determined that he was not hit by gunfire. Mobley is being charged with Attempted Murder, Burglary 1st Degree, Burglary 2nd Degree, and Breach of Peace of a High and Aggravated Nature. He will be transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center once he is released from the hospital.
