Sheriff Leon Lott announces the arrest of Tyjae Miller (21; DOB: 03/17/05) in connection with the June 4th Summit shooting involving the attempted murder of RCSD deputies.
On July 2, 2026, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Miller arrived to RCSD Headquarters and turned himself in directly to Sheriff Lott. Tyjae Miller is the 5th shooter from Team A in connection with shots fired at 3 RCSD deputies.
Yesterday, July 1, 2026, the first arrest was made for Team B with the arrest of Aric Hicks.
RCSD acknowledges and is thankful for the role that the media played in bringing attention to Miller’s wanted status. Family encouragement and social media attention contributed to Miller’s decision to turn himself in to law enforcement. Sheriff Lott was notably quoted on social media from his June 23rd press conference about Tyjae Miller’s wanted status, “We’re gonna come get you. There’s no rock that you can hide under that we’re not gonna overturn and find you in it.”
Miller is charged with 3 counts of Attempted Murder (RCSD deputies as victims), Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime, and Aggravated Breach of Peace. He was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
