The Richland County Sheriff’s Department continues to exhaust all efforts to find Sabrina Heinz.

On January 30, 2026, RCSD deputies were notified by Heinz’s supervisor that she had not shown up for work. Deputies learned that Heinz missed an appointment for work which was out of character for her. Heinz’s place of employment activated the GPS monitoring on her company vehicle, and it was located on I77 in the Blythewood area. Deputies responded and located the vehicle which was abandoned with Heinz’s personal belongings inside. Deputies notified the Missing Persons Unit investigators who responded.

When investigators arrived on scene, efforts to trace Ms. Heinz’s last known whereabouts were made, and an extensive search of the wooded area surrounding both sides of I77 was initiated. Investigators utilized several resources in the search which included approximately 12-15 investigators on the ground, K9, a drone, and an airplane. RCSD released pictures of Ms. Heinz online to be shared with the media to ask for the community’s help in finding her.

Investigators worked on the case until late hours of the night Friday night. After the winter storm, investigators were able to return to full search efforts on Sunday.
