Sheriff Leon Lott announces the arrest of Daquan Wilson (DOB: 4/22/97) in connection with a shooting that occurred on January 7, 2026, at the 300 block of Percival Road.
On January 7, 2026, around 12:30pm, deputies responded to the 1000 block of North Kings Street in reference to a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, who had suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was transported by EMS to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Deputies were able to quickly determine that the shooting had originally occurred at 313 Percival Road (Spring Garden Apartments) before the victim fled in his vehicle. Deputies and investigators relocated to 313 Percival Road and located multiple shell casings in the parking lot, establishing the crime scene. Witnesses on scene identified a specific apartment as being involved in the shooting and investigators were able to identify the shooter as Daquan Wilson. RCSD’s Special Response Team responded to the scene but were unable to locate Wilson.
The investigation revealed there was an ongoing feud between Wilson and the victim that led to the shooting.
Just before 10:00pm, January 7, Wilson turned himself in at RCSD Headquarters on Two Notch Road. Wilson is charged with Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime, Attempted Murder, and Breach of Peace. Wilson was transported to Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center where he is awaiting a bond hearing.
