The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (201 John Mark Dial Dr.) on May 26, 2026.
On May 26, just after 1:30 pm, ASGDC staff notified RCSD investigations of a stabbing that just occurred. Deputies responded to the jail and observed two inmates that had sustained non-life-threatening injuries. One of those inmates was transported to a local hospital for treatment. During the initial investigation, a sharp object was recovered.
