Sheriff Leon Lott announces the arrest of Sade Grooms (41; DOB: 06/18/85) for Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.

During the investigation of multiple shootings that led to the attempted murder of three deputies, a 16-year-old was charged in connection to the shootings. It was discovered that the mother of the 16-year-old, Grooms, has shown a pattern of a lack of responsibility for her juvenile son. Grooms was aware of her son’s criminal activity and did not intervene.

On June 18, 2026, Grooms was taken into custody and charged with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. She was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center where she was released the following day on a $25,000 surety bond.
