Sheriff Leon Lott announces the arrest of Dathan Stukes (49; DOB: 05/16/77) after following a woman and claiming to be law enforcement.
On June 21, 2026, at approximately 6:00 p.m., deputies responded to the 100 block of Lost John Rd for a report of a woman being followed home. Deputies learned on scene that the victim was driving in her vehicle when a male in a vehicle behind her became agitated and began following her. When she arrived at her residence, she called a family member to come outside due to being in fear of the male. The family member confronted the male who identified himself as an off-duty law enforcement officer. The male provided no law enforcement credentials.
During the investigation, the male was identified as Stukes through pictures and video taken during the incident. It was determined that the male is not a law enforcement officer.
On June 25, 2026, at approximately 6:00 p.m., deputies located Stukes and placed him under arrest without incident. He was charged with Impersonating a Law Enforcement Officer. He was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center where he is awaiting a bond hearing.
