Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announces the arrest of a former deputy, Spencer Link, 35, on charges of DUI.
On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 10:08 p.m., the South Carolina Highway Patrol made a traffic stop on Bluff Rd on a gray Toyota pickup truck for a traffic violation. The driver, identified as Spencer Matthew Link, was believed to be under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest for DUI. He was off duty and in his personal car at the time of the arrest. He was booked into the Alvin S. Glen Detention Center.
Link was immediately suspended without pay and is no longer employed with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. Link was employed with the Sheriff’s Department since May 6, 2024.
