
Richland County, South Carolina, home to Columbia and one of the largest populations in the state at about 430,000 residents, is a diverse and vibrant community with deep historical roots. As part of efforts to increase transparency and public engagement, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department has been featured on the nationally broadcast reality docuseries On Patrol Live since the show’s 2022 premiere. On Patrol Live offers viewers a real-time look at law enforcement responding to calls and engaging with the community, with more than 300 episodes aired nationally and RCSD deputies regularly spotlighted for their professionalism and commitment to public safety. The series has helped reinforce community trust by showing the department’s daily work in an unfiltered format and highlighting the varied calls and interactions deputies navigate while serving Richland County.
