M/Deputy Clarence Black has been in law enforcement 1998. He became a School Resource Officer in 2000. He is retired from the military with twenty years experience, with over 12 years of working with youth in different programs such as Drug Court, Diversion, and other youth programs in the church.

Deputy Justin Britt has been working at RCSD since 2006.  He is currently working on his Bachelors Degree in Sociology. He enjoys hunting and fishing or just being outdoors. He looks forward to working with the youth of our community.

Sherrick Hill

Deputy Sherrick Hill has been with RCSD since 1997. She also works with the Kid Print Program. This is a program that she holds dear to her heart. It gives her a chance to interact with youth of all ages throughout the county. She has been working with young people since 1993. Her experiences consist of mentoring at the Department of Juvenile Justice, Teen Institute, Americorp, 4-H and the Kid Print Program. She enjoys spending time with our youth because they are our future leaders.

Deputy Cedric Jacobs has been with the Department since 2005.  He joined the SRO Program because he loves working with children and enjoys when he can make a difference in a child's life.

Senior Deputy Dan Ross has been in law enforcement since 1991. He has been a SRO since 2000. He is retired military. He previously worked for the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department prior to coming to Richland County Sheriff’s Department. His goal is to help our children make right and good decisions.

Deputy Melissa Satterfield has been employed with the Richland County Sheriff's Department since July of 2007. She graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2007 with a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice and is currently pursuing her Master's degree in Forensic Science from the University of Florida. She enjoys reading, spending time with her family and friends, going to see her best friend in Charleston (her favorite city to visit!), and playing with her puppy Little Bit. She teaches DARE and other Law Related Education classes. She is excited about being able to make a difference in at least one child's life.

Deputy Fred Williams is retired from the U.S. Army after serving 23 years. He is originally from the Bay area of Northern California and is happily married with 2 children. He enjoys Hebrew Biblical Studies and music and is currently pursing a B.A. in pastoral ministries.

Deputy Johnny Woods was born at Ft. Jackson and as a military dependent, lived in several states. He moved to Columbia in 1991, where his father retired. He attended Spring Valley High School and the University of South Carolina. He has been in Law Enforcement since 2004 and an SRO since 2006. Deputy Woods is married and has one child. His hobbies include tennis and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
