Master Deputy Jimmy Wilder -"A" Squad Leader - has been in law enforcement with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department since January of 2000. He is retired from the Army of 20 years.  He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of South Carolina. His hobbies are walking and playing basketball.

Deputy Robert Boyd is retired military with 14 years in Law Enforcement. He started with Richland County in September of 2002. He has a Bachelors Degree in Business from Coker College. He is happily married and enjoys working on cars, reading and swimming.

Deputy Trobathian Johnson was born in Ft. Lauderdale Florida.  He has experience in Primary and Secondary Education (Music Education).  He worked with the SC Department of Mental Health prior to coming to RCSD in 2007.

Deputy Matthew McCants is married and has two sons. He is a minister and has worked in law enforcement for more than 20 years. He has spent 9 of those 20 years with the Richland County Sheriff’ Department. He has been a SRO since 2000.

Deputy Eugene Mitchell is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and holds an Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and Bachelor of Art in Humanities and Sociology.  He has been employed with the Richland County Sheriff Department since 1984.  He currently works at Hopkins Middle School as a School Resource Officer.  Officer Mitchell is a retired Master Sergeant of the United States Army Reserve and the SC National Guard and recently completed a twelve-month tour in Iraq serving in Iraqi Freedom; He is also a Vietnam Veteran. Mr. Mitchell grew up in Calhoun County in the Sandy Run Community.   He is a graduate of John Ford High School in St. Matthews, South Carolina. Mr. Mitchell has been married for 26 years and is the father of four children, and grandfather of two.  He serves as a father figure and mentor for countless youths in his community, school and church.  He serves in his church as a Trustee and Assistant Superintendent of the Church School.

Deputy Vince Walker has been with the Richland County Sheriff's Department since 1997. In 2001 he became a School Resource Officer. He enjoys working with the kids and the school staff. He teaches DARE and law-related education.
