Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is requesting the community’s assistance in locating Donald Bernard Benson Jr. (DOB: 12/27/88) and Clyde Tyrone Williams Jr. (DOB: 07/30/89) wanted for Attempted Murder, Pointing and Presenting, and Assault and Battery. On Friday, August 26, 2011 at 2252 Forest Drive (Gonzales Gardens Shopping Center), Columbia Police Department responded to an assault – Columbia Police Investigators stated that Williams and Benson assaulted the victim as he exited the store. The victim made it to his vehicle and left the scene as Williams shot multiple rounds towards the victim’s vehicle. At 12:30 AM Sunday, August 28, 2011 at 2008 Faraway Drive (Reserves Apartments, Columbia) - - Richland County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an assault. Upon arrival deputies found the victim with multiple injuries to his upper body -- the victim was transported to Palmetto Richland Hospital. Sheriff Lott stated that Benson and Williams assaulted the victim causing lacerations to the upper body. Sheriff Lott is asking for assistance in locating Williams and Benson.
