Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrest of Gary Vaughn Caple (DOB: 03/25/87) for armed robbery.

Caple was arrested around noon on Monday, October 17, 2011 at the Richland County Sheriff’s Department Headquarters in conjunction with Forest Acres Police Department (who have also charged Caple with armed robbery), and Military Criminal Investigations Division of Fort Jackson. Caple admitted to committing crimes within Richland County and Forest Acres to Military Police.

Just before 11:00 PM on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 2409 Percival Road (AMPM Store) Richland County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a robbery call. Sheriff Lott stated that Caple and another suspect pointed a weapon, demanded money from the victim, and assaulted him.

The investigation continues and additional charges may be filed. Caple has been transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
