Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrest of Willis J. Lowman of 200 Saluda River Road, Apartment 6B (DOB: 07/08/67) charged with two counts of strong armed robbery and one count of larceny.

Richland County Sheriff’s Department, in conjunction with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, arrested Lowman on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 just before noon at 1220 Meredith Drive (Palmetto Pointe Apartments, Lexington County) – at the home of an acquaintance. Richland County Deputies received a Crimestoppers tip that led to the identification of Lowman.

-Tuesday - 6:00 PM October 4, 2011 at 1735 Decker Boulevard (Family Dollar) Richland County Sheriff’s deputies met with the clerk who stated that Lowman entered the business and pretended to purchase an item – when the clerk opened the register Lowman reached over the counter and stole the money then fled the store.

-Monday – 7:30 PM October 10, 2011 at 2724 Decker Boulevard (Dollar Tree) Richland County Sheriff’s Department responded to a robbery call. Upon arrival the victim stated that Lowman told her to stay quiet and give him the money from the drawer – Lowman pushed the victim out of the way to get to the register which he then stole the money then fled the business.

-Sunday - 6:15 AM October 1, 2011 at 800 St. Andrews Road (Exxon Gas Station) the victim states that Lowman forced her out of the way and stole money from the register then fled the business.

Lowman has been transported to Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
