Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrests of Justin Jones (DOB: 10/27/94) and Robert Alford (DOB: 09/01/94) both are charged with carjacking.

On Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 7:30 AM an alert deputy spotted a vehicle on the 900 block of Colleton Street that had been carjacked earlier that morning. Upon approach two men were found sleeping in the vehicle. Deputies identified Jones and Alford and they were arrested.

Sheriff Lott stated they were arrested because just after 1:00 AM on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 1032 Fiske Street, they robbed and assaulted a male victim that was getting gas at 5831 N. Main Street (The Obama Store). The victim was approached by three suspects and asked for a ride – the suspects directed the victim to Fiske Street, at that time the victim was assaulted and robbed of his money and thrown from his vehicle. The victim was treated for his injuries by EMS.

Video released from the Obama store ties Jones and Alford to the crime and investigators are continuing to search for the third suspect. If anyone has any information on this incident and the whereabouts of the third suspect; please call crimestoppers at 888CRIMESC.
