Deputies who competed in World Games honored by County Council

On Tuesday evening, Richland County Council honored Richland County Sheriff’s Department Investigator Amy Hartland and Deputy Cornell Young for their amazing successes at the 2011 World Fire and Police Games in New York. During the games, Deputy Young and Investigator Hartland ran and swam away with 6 medals, between them. Deputy Young competed in the 400m hurdles capturing a silver medal and the 110m hurdles winning a gold medal and Investigator Hartland competed, swimming in the 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 50 Butterfly and 100 Butterfly capturing silver medals in all four events

Tonight, Richland County Councilman Gregory Pearce presented the proclamations to the Deputies recognizing them for their hard work, dedication and their professional representation of the Sheriff’s Department and Richland County. The proclamations were made in front of County Council and in the presence of Investigator Hartland’s and Deputy Young’s friends, co-workers and supervisors.
