Suspect wanted for two counts of attempted murder

Update 05/20/2011: Sheriff Leon Lott states that on May 13, 2011 Quintin Wallace fired a handgun into a vehicle located at 3563 Humphrey Drive and then fled the scene. When Deputies arrived Shakira Lyles told Deputies that she and her three year old brother were in the car at the time of the shooting and that Wallace shot at her over an ongoing dispute they were having.    

On May 17, 2011 Wallace turned himself in to investigators on charges of Attempted Murder. The Sheriff added that investigators re-interviewed Lyles (DOB 11-20-91), and interviewed Wallace, determining that Lyles had lied about being in the car. Investigators have amended Wallace’s charges to malicious injury to personal property and unlawful carry of a pistol and Lyles was arrested on May 20, 2011 on charges of filing a false police report, which is a felony.


Update 05/17/2011: Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott states that Quintin Lamont Wallace Jr. (DOB 1-29-91) turned himself in to investigators today.  Sheriff Lott added that Wallace has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and will be booked in to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center later today.


Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is requesting the community’s assistance in locating Quintin Lamont Wallace Jr. (DOB 1-29-91) on two counts of attempted murder.

Sheriff Lott states that on May 13, 2011 Wallace fired a handgun into a vehicle that was occupied by his 19 year old pregnant girlfriend and her 3 year old brother. Investigators have learned that Wallace and his girlfriend have had on ongoing dispute that resulted in Wallace firing into the car multiple times; while she was parked in the front yard of 3563 Humphrey Drive.

Sheriff Lott is asking that anyone with information on the location of Wallace should call, email or text your anonymous tip to: Crimestoppers at 1-888-crimesc, or text “TIPSC plus your message” to CRIMES (274637).  Your tip could earn you a cash reward of up to $1000.
