Update: 05/12/2011 - Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrest of Emilee Alice Creech (DOB: 05/19/89) and Khatari Montello Blue (DOB: 10/05/85) for Grand Larceny.

Sheriff Lott states the Richland County Sheriff’s Department received a Crimestoppers tip that led to the identity and location of Creech and Blue. Richland County Investigators were able to arrest both suspects at a W. Columbia motel without incident.

On Wednesday, May 4, 2011 Creech and Blue entered Kay’s Jewelers (481 Town Center Place) and stole over $8,900.00 in jewelry (two diamond rings, and one diamond band).  

The Sheriff states that Creech and Blue entered the store posing as shoppers—while Creech was trying on several rings Blue said he was going to get his identification from his vehicle and open an account at the store. A few minutes later Creech ran out of the store with the merchandise.

Sheriff Lott commends alert citizens who were able to help law enforcement apprehend criminals through avenues such as Crimestoppers. Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is requesting the community’s assistance in identifying two suspects wanted for Grand Larceny.

Sheriff Lott states that at 7:30 PM Wednesday, May 04, 2011 at Kay Jewelers (481 Town Center Place) two suspects stole over $8,900.00 in jewelry (two diamond rings, and one diamond band).  

The victim states that the suspects entered the store posing as shoppers—while the female suspect was trying on several rings the male suspect said he was going to get his identification from his vehicle and open an account at the store. A few minutes later the female suspect ran out of the store with the merchandise and got into a red, older model Ford vehicle with a South Carolina license tag (make and tag unknown).    

The male subject is described as a black male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, and weighs 165 pounds, last seen wearing a Wendy’s shirt, black pants, black shoes, dreads to shoulders—female subject described as a white female, 5 feet 7 inches tall, and weighs 215 pounds, brown hair, last seen wearing brown short sleeve shirt, khaki pants.

Surveillance equipment captured video (still photo below) from the incident, and Sheriff Lott is asking for assistance.
