Sheriff Leon Lott works to provide parents with additional gifts on their Mother’s Day! Sheriff Lott announced that over the past month--the Richland County Sheriff’s Department Fugitive Task Force focused additional efforts on Family Court bench warrants. The Task Force served 67 Family Court bench warrants with an arrearage totaling in excess of $955,000.00. The cumulative effort ended with a full two day, county wide, warrant sweep on May 5th and 6th. On the final two days of the sweep 92 warrants were attempted with 26 individuals being located and arrested. Sheriff Lott stated the true victims in these cases are the children—Sheriff Lott vows to go after and arrest any deadbeat parent.
