Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced today the arrest of an 11 year old male suspect for armed robbery.

On February 25, 2010 at approximately 6:30 PM an 11 year old female was walking from a local convenience store located at 3315 Broad River Road when the male suspect approached the victim and pointed a knife at her and demanded she give him the food items she had. After the suspect threatened the victim with the knife she relinquished the items to the suspect and he fled the incident location on foot.

The victim was familiar with the suspect because they live in the same neighborhood. The victim provided a detailed account of what happened, which aided deputies in apprehending the male suspect. The Family Court Judge released the suspect to his parents and he is currently on house arrest.
