Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced today the arrest of Ronald Rivers (DOB 05-10-63, 5'04, 195lbs) in connection with the death of Gwendolyn Rivers.

Sheriff Leon Lott stated that on March 11, 2008 Ronald Rivers got into his car, placed the car in reverse and intentionally rammed his wife.    Sheriff Leon Lott stated that the investigation (conducted by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the Richland County Coroner’s Office and the Fifth Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office) has determined that Ronald Rivers purposefully rammed his car into his wife, pinning her against the concrete porch after there was a verbal and physical domestic dispute inside the home.    Sheriff Leon Lott stated that Ronald Rivers intentionally veered into the path of the sidewalk where the victim had been standing and struck and killed her.    Sheriff Leon Lott stated that Ronald Rivers turned himself in to investigators today and was charged with murder.
