Trafficking cocaine arrest

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrest of Rodney Pace (DOB 8-26-78 of 412 Bluff Road) in connection with several counts of trafficking narcotics.

Sheriff Leon Lott stated that the City of Columbia Police Department received information that Pace possessed narcotics in an apartment at Columbia Garden Apartments – upon arrival CPD found 2 ounces of cocaine, ½ ounce of crack cocaine and a small amount of marijuana.   Narcotics agents from the Sheriff’s Department became involved when information surfaced that Pace also had narcotics stored at 104 Hunt Avenue – agents responded and located 2 “Kilos” of cocaine and $30,000 US currency in a shed in the backyard. Sheriff Lott stated that agents learned that Pace was located in a motel in Cayce and Police Officers from the City of Columbia Police Department and Cayce Department of Public Safety and Deputies from the Richland County Sheriff’s Department located Pace at the Knights Inn in Cayce just off I-26.   

Pace has been transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center where he is awaiting a bond hearing and that the Sheriff’s Department has charged him with Trafficking Cocaine > 400 grams.
