5th Annual Ryan Rawl Memorial Event

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott invites you to participate in the 5th Annual Ryan Rawl Memorial Event; in honor of Deputy/1st Lieutenant Ryan Rawl. The Richland County Sheriff’s Department will host the event on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. Sign in will begin at 7:00am on the Sumter Street side of the Statehouse (1100 Gervais St, Columbia, SC). The workout will begin at 8:00am.The event honors one of our fallen heroes, Ryan Davis Rawl who gave the ultimate sacrifice defending our country, and also recognizes all who served to protect the freedoms we enjoy today.

Teams of two will tackle the RCSD Memorial Event by embarking on a course consisting of Bootcamp-style challenges. The difficulty of the challenges will honor the stamina, dedication and sacrifice of our military heroes; completion will rely on the teams working together. The challenges can be scaled and modified to each participant’s fitness ability and can be completed by ANYONE.

The Ryan Rawl Memorial Event is family-friendly.  Registration cost is $25 per person, $50 per team. Registration includes a t-shirt. Ryan Rawl was a Citadel graduate, Richland County Sheriff’s Deputy, School Resource Officer at Crayton Middle School, and South Carolina National Guardsman; killed in Afghanistan by a suicide bomber on June 20, 2012. Event proceeds and donations will offset minor event costs and benefit scholarships in memory of Ryan Rawl supported by the Ryan Rawl Freedom Run.
