Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrest of Jerry Goodwin (DOB: 07/25/68) for unlawful obtaining of non-ferrous metals.   

Sheriff Lott states that at 9:30 AM on Thursday, June 23, 2011 the Richland County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call of suspicious activity located at 3608 Judy Street, Columbia. 

A concerned citizen called the Sheriff’s Department about the suspicious activity that was going on in the neighborhood. Goodwin was spotted loading an A/C unit into the back of a pickup truck. Deputies observed a truck matching the description on Farrow and Wilkes Road (Gazba gas station). SGoodwin did cause damage to the unit and property estimated at $4000.00.   

Goodwin was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
