Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is requesting the community’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted for attempted murder.

At 11 PM Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 1704 Leesburg Road (Li’l Cricket convenience store) the suspect shot the victim in the upper body.

When deputies responded to the scene they found the victim on the ground with a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was transported to Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Witnesses stated the suspect fired multiple shots then fled the scene.

Investigators are interviewing witnesses and following up on leads.
