Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is requesting the community’s assistance in identifying a suspect(s) wanted for Armed Robbery. At 4:38 AM Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 1540 Daulton Drive (Comfort Inn and Suites, Northeast Columbia) the clerk was robbed at gunpoint. The victim states the suspect entered the premises pretending to be interested in a room, pulls out a black revolver and points it at the victim. The victim further states the suspect demanded all the money from the register; the victim complied and the suspect fled the business. The suspect is described as a black male, 5’9”, slim build, approximately 150 pounds, wearing a white baggy t-shirt, black gym shorts, a dark bandana around his neck, and black shoes. This robbery is in close proximity to the recent murder that took place early Friday morning at 10008 Two Notch Road. Investigators are reviewing details of both incidents and following leads; working to determine if the incidents are related (time of day, commercial business, within twenty-four hours of each other). It is extremely important that we solve these crimes.
