Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is requesting the community’s assistance in identifying the suspect wanted for armed robbery. Sheriff Lott states that at just after 9:30 PM Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Longcreek Drive and Cambout Drive, Richland County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an armed robbery call. The victim stated he went to the corner store and once inside he was approached by a man asking for some change. Sheriff Leon Lott stated that the victim gave the suspect several quarters and both went about their business (surveillance video equipment captured the suspect in the store). The handicapped victim was walking back to his apartment when he was approached by the same man who presented a gun and demanded all his money. The victim told the suspect he didn’t have any and the suspect proceeded to go through the victims pockets before fleeing the area on foot. The suspect is described as a black male, in his late 20’s, approximately 6 feet tall, around 180 pounds, short hair, white T-shirt, dark pants.
