Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrest of Dedrea Rodriguez (DOB: 01/04/90) wanted for 3 counts of Armed Robbery, 3 counts of Kidnapping, and Assault and Battery. Rodriguez was arrested late afternoon Friday, August 5, 2011 by Investigators with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department in conjunction with the Charleston Police Department at 1385 Ashley River Road, Apartment 48-H, Charleston, South Carolina without incident. Sheriff ott stated that Rodriguez was the driver in the three robberies committed along with Kelley Tyler (DOB: 09/11/89) -- arrested on Tuesday, July 26, 2011. On Friday, July 15, 2011 just before 3:00 AM, at 7373 Two Notch Road (Bank of America, ATM) Rodriguez and Kelley pushed a pistol into the victim’s chest and made the victim withdraw cash from the ATM. Rodriguez and Kelley stole the victims’ cell phone, money, and her car keys. Sheriff Leon Lott stated that at 4:45 PM Friday, July 15, 2011 at 2000 Clemson Road (Bank of America, ATM) Rodriguez and Kelley presented a gun and demanded the victim’s money, wallet, and car keys. Sheriff Leon Lott stated that at 8:00 PM Friday, July 15, 2011 at 8810 Farrow Road (Bank of America, ATM) Rodriguez and Kelley presented a handgun and stole the victim’s money, cell phone, debit card, and car keys. Rodriguez has been transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrest of Kelley Tyler (DOB: 09/11/89) wanted for 3 counts of Armed Robbery, 3 counts of Kidnapping, and Assault and Battery. Tyler was arrested by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department Fugitive Task Force in conjunction with the Charlotte Police Department Fugitive Task Force on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 late afternoon in Concord, North Carolina. On Friday, July 15, 2011 just before 3:00 AM, at 7373 Two Notch Road (Bank of America, ATM) Tyler pushed a pistol into the victim’s chest and made the victim withdraw cash from the ATM. Tyler stole the victims’ cell phone, money, and her car keys. At 4:45 PM Friday, July 15, 2011 at 2000 Clemson Road (Bank of America, ATM) Tyler presented a gun and demanded the victim’s money, wallet, and car keys.At 8:00 PM Friday, July 15, 2011 at 8810 Farrow Road (Bank of America, ATM) Tyler presented a handgun and stole the victim’s money, cell phone, debit card, and car keys. The Charleston Police Department arrested Tyler on July 16, 2011 at the intersection of Old Towne Road and North Hillsboro Drive (Charleston, SC) at 11:30 PM in which Tyler bonded out. The Charleston Police made a lawful traffic stop after observing the vehicle make a turn without using the proper turn signal. Officers observed a strong odor of marijuana from the vehicle. As Tyler retrieved the proper paper work for the vehicle from the console officers observed a handgun in plain view. Tyler was arrested and a search of the vehicle was conducted. Sheriff Lott stated that upon further investigation in conjunction with the Charleston Police Department, Tyler’ fingerprint was matched using the Richland County Sheriff’s Department DNA Lab from the victims vehicle involved in a previous crime committed in Richland County, furthermore Tyler was positively identified through a photo line up. Sheriff Lott stated that Tyler is still in North Carolina fighting extradition. The investigation continues into these crimes committed by Tyler.
