Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is asking possible victims of Robert Gilchrist -- charged with Assault with Intent to Commit Criminal Sexual Conduct- First Degree and Kidnapping-- to come forward.

Sheriff Leon Lott states that Gilchrist (DOB: 07/29/92) would obtain nude pictures of high school age females and use the pictures as leverage in order to get them to do sexual favors for him.

Sheriff Leon Lott states that at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, July 26, 2011, Richland County Sheriff’s Department Deputies responded to a call that Gilchrist was threatening a young woman over the phone and then arrived at her residence.

Sheriff Leon Lott stated that upon arrival deputies met with the victim who stated that Gilchrist presented a gun and took her around the back of her house where he attempted to sexually assault her. The victim was able to get away and Gilchrist fled the home on foot. Deputies detained Gilchrist in the complainant’s backyard. Gilchrist is currently at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

Sheriff Lott is asking anyone who may have been a victim to contact the Richland County Sheriff's Department.
