Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrest of DaJuan Minson (DOB: 09/03/91) who was wanted for Burglary and Aggravated Assault. Richland County Sheriff’s Department arrested Minson without incident at the home of an acquaintance (1929 Ardmore Road, Columbia) on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Sheriff Lott stated Minson was located after gathering information from acquaintances. On Sunday, June 26, 2011 Richland County Sheriff’s Deputy patrolling the neighborhood responded to 1635 Decker Boulevard after hearing what appeared to be gunshots coming from the that area. Upon arrival two victims came running over to the deputy stating that they had just been robbed. The victims (1 male, 1 female) stated that an unknown male subject (Minson) walked up pointing a handgun at them. The victims stated Minson cocked the gun and demanded all they had. Minson then walked up to the female victim putting the gun to her forehead and stole her purse containing $120.00, Visa card, and took her cellular phone. Both victims ran towards the Spinx gas station (1619 Decker Boulevard) to seek help; Minson fired two shots at the victims missing them. The victims spotted the deputy and informed them of what just happened. During the search of the area, the victim’s purse with her identification and no other items inside was recovered in the bushes. Richland County Sheriff’s Department was able to obtain fingerprints from the purse which was later identified through the Sheriff’s Department forensic lab belonging to Minson. At 7:00 PM on Friday, February 11, 2011 the Richland County Sheriff’s Department responded to a burglary call at 2920 Chatsworth Road, Columbia. The victim stated that an unknown person (Minson) forced entry into his residence causing $250.00 in damages and stole a Vizio flat screen television valued at $450.00, an X-Box 360 game console valued at $300.00, and a Playstation 3 console valued at $400.00. The victim’s daughter had an issue with three men earlier in the day who refused to leave the residence, one of those men was identified as Minson. Sheriff Leon Lott states that an independent witness observed the burglary and upon further investigation, Minson made an attempt to sell the stolen items to a local Gamestop. Minson was arrested and transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. | |||
