Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrest of Jabriel Singleton (DOB: 12/03/91) for murder and attempted murder.

At 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 131 Veterans Road (America’s Best Value Inn) The Richland County Sheriff’s Department Fugitive Task Force using solid investigative skills and following leads were able to arrest Singleton without incident inside a motel room.

Sheriff Lott continues to express the importance of community involvement to apprehend all those who commit crimes against the people of Richland County. It’s all about Unity in the Community to make it safe to walk the streets without fear of becoming the next victim. It was the hard work of the Richland County Sheriff’s Department Fugitive Task Force and those willing to step up and provide valuable information to assist in taking people like Singleton off the streets.

On Tuesday, January 24, 2011 at 2:40 PM Richland County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a shots fired call on Prioleau Road (Hopkins). Singleton shot and killed Deshawn Jones and shot another victim several times as they sat in a Suzuki SUV. The victim was transported to Palmetto Richland Hospital and is in critical condition. The investigation continues to determine why this happened.

Singleton has been transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
