Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrest of Randy Mario Griffin of 1616 Blakeley Street (DOB: 10/08/72) for 2 counts of attempted murder, and 1 count of armed robbery.

Sheriff Leon Lott stated that at 11:15 AM on Friday, January 20, 2012, Griffin was arrested by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department Fugitive Task Force at 4912 Monticello Road. Griffin was located due to tip called in to Crimestoppers.

Sheriff Leon Lott states that at 12:45 AM on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 1520 Winyah Drive, Richland County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an assault call. Upon arrival deputies noticed that the victim was bleeding and had to be transported immediately to Palmetto Richland Hospital. Richland County deputies interviewed a witness at the scene who stated that a verbal altercation between Griffin and two victims (one male, one female) turned physical and that Griffin stabbed the male victim in the upper body.

Sheriff Leon Lott wants to thank the concerned citizens of Richland County for assisting us in putting dangerous criminals behind bars by calling Crimestoppers. Sheriff Leon Lott states that Griffin has been transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
