Update: 02/15/2011 Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrest of James Carl Goodwin (D.O.B. 06/25/1966) for attempted murder.
Sheriff Lott states that the Richland County Sheriff’s Department Fugitive Task Force and Agents from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division received an anonymous tip on James Carl Goodwin’s location and arrested him without incident Tuesday February 15th at 9:45AM at the Coronet Motel, 6320 N. Main Street, Columbia. Goodwin is being transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center where he will await a bond hearing.
Sheriff Lott states that on Monday February 7th at 2:00AM James Carl Goodwin also known as “48” stabbed the victim in the back at a Superbowl party during a verbal altercation. The victim was transported to the hospital where he received treatment for his wound. The incident occurred at 1649 South Goodwin Circle, Gadsden.

Sheriff Lott states these two knew each other and had prior altercations.
