Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced today the arrest of Lanzaddy J. Smith (D.O.B.12-21-88 of 3728 Hoyt Street) who has been charged with three counts of assault with intent to kill and one count of discharging a firearm into a dwelling and one count of unlawful possession of a pistol. 

Sheriff Lott stated on February 23, 2008 around 12:00 A.M. Smith went to 1600 Willowby Street (off Percival Road) to visit his estranged girlfriend -- as the victims arrived, Smith fired multiple shots into their vehicle. A uniformed patrol deputy heard the gun shots as they were fired and responded. Smith was apprehended on the scene and admitted to shooting into the vehicle over an apparent domestic dispute. Sheriff Lott added that no one was injured as a result of the multiple shots Smith fired from a handgun, which deputies recovered at the scene. Smith was arrested and transported to Alvin S. Glen Detention Center where he received a $100,000 surety bond--- as of this release Smith is still in AGDC.
