Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrests of Dustin Haile (DOB: 02/02/87) for attempted murder and Adam Rodriguez (DOB: 06/24/86) for assault by mob. On Monday, December 5, 2011 Haile and Rodriguez were both arrested at the Richland County Sheriff’s Department after investigators determined that they were responsible for the assault and stabbing that took place before the USC football game on November 26. The Sheriff added that investigators were able to determine that Haile and Rodriguez were responsible when investigators interviewed witnesses who were present when the altercation occurred. The incident occurred at 6:30 PM on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Bluff Road and Hemlock Drive where Richland County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a assault call. The victim got into a verbal altercation with Haile about moving barricades at a tailgating spot for the University of South Carolina game. The victim and Haile got into a physical altercation when Rodriguez joined in and struck the victim in the face using his fist. Sheriff Lott stated that during the altercation Haile stabbed the victim in the upper body sending the victim to Palmetto Richland Hospital in critical condition. Haile and Rodriguez have been transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
