Sheriff Leon Lott stated the community and Sheriff’s Department fought a long battle with the issues surrounding the Club, however the persistence of the business and residential community paid off.   Sheriff Leon Lott stated the Sheriff’s Department went to great lengths to work with the management of Club Essence but in the end the business continued to be a community nuisance and safety concern.   Sheriff Leon Lott stated the shear number of calls for service deputies responded to (87 over the last three years) were themselves cause for concern; but the violent incidents are what ultimately lead to the Sheriff and community to stand together to pressure them to close.    Sheriff Leon Lott added that the constant communication between citizens and the Sheriff’s Department is truly what lead to the closing of the Club.
