Kidnapping/Solicitation/Shoplifting arrest

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrest of Kennard Antonio Gallmon (DOB: 11/11/80) charged with kidnapping, solicitation of a person using ATM, and shoplifting.

Sheriff Lott stated that after 1:00 PM on Monday, August 29, 2011 at 103 William Harden Road, (Dollar General, Pontiac SC) the Richland County Sheriff’s Department responded to a shoplifting call where Gallmon had taken a bottle of wine and consumed it inside the store without paying for it. Upon further investigation, it was found that at 1:00 PM on Monday August 29, 2011, at 9050 Farrow Road, (Shell Gas Station, Columbia) Gallmon did force the victim to give him money by intimidation while she was using the ATM – then kidnapped the victim by forcing her to drive him around while threatening her with what appeared to be a gun. The victim fearing for her life complied with Gallmon’s demands.

Richland County Sheriff’s Deputies were able to apprehend Gallmon thanks to community involvement -- Gallmon has been transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
