Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrests Clarence Leonard III (DOB: 09/20/91), Quainelius Rochon (DOB: 07/25/88) charged with two counts each of weapons violation, traffic violations, kidnapping, and armed robbery.

While on patrol at 4:30 PM Wednesday, August 17, 2011 on Morninghill drive a Richland County Sheriff’s Deputy observed a traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle. The deputy asked the occupants to step out of the vehicle saw a handgun in plain view on the floor board. Leonard was placed under arrest for unlawful carry of the handgun and a search of Leonard revealed a wallet belonging to one of the victims. Upon further investigation deputies were able to conclude that Leonard and Rochon assaulted and robbed the victims at 421 Bush River Road (Palmetto Inn) at 3:43 PM on Wednesday, August 17, 2011.

Sheriff Lott states that it’s a good day when we can take criminals off the streets of Richland County and commends his deputies for staying alert and doing the work the citizens of Richland County expect of us daily.

Leonard and Rochon were arrested and transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
