Update 09/15/2009: Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced September 15, 2009 that Janice Haygood (DOB: 12-22-1972) was arrested September 14 without incident, by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department Fugitive Task Force. Sheriff Lott states that Haygood was located through the assistance of the community and the media. Haygood has been transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. Update 09/08/2009: Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott states as a result of this image being shown throughout the midlands, investigators received several tips from the community and were able to identify who the woman is. Sheriff Lott turns to the community, once again, in locating suspect Janice Haygood on forgery charges. Sheriff Leon Lott urges anyone with knowledge of her whereabouts to contact crimestoppers immediately at 1-888-CRIME-SC. Information leading to Haygood’s arrest could earn you a cash reward of up to $1000. Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott states on July 11, 2009 at approximately 9:00 PM the suspect (photo below) attempted to pass a forged check of $2,502.63 at 7006 Two Notch Road (Best Buy). The checks and victim’s drivers license were stolen from a victim’s vehicle that was parked at Saint Andrews Park located at 920 Beatty Road on July 6, 2009. The suspect used the victim’s drivers license in order to cash the stolen check. The City of West Columbia is also investigating this same suspect for the exact same crime in which forged checks were being utilized at various businesses.
