Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced today the arrest Bryan Jones (DOB 2/17/91) for armed robbery.
O n August 25, 2009 at approximately 12:00 PM deputies responded to 13 China Rose Court in Columbia to a report of a domestic disturbance. The victim reported that his son (Jones) threatened to stab him with a kitchen knife if he didn't give him twenty dollars. The victim gave his son the money, who then ran out of the house. When deputies arrived, Jones was found hiding behind a tree in the yard and was arrested on site.
J ones was charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon and transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
Sheriff Lott added that reporting crime can be difficult when it involves family members. However, the Sheriff encourages citizens to do as this father has done: report all crime. Citizens should always report crimes and suspicious activity in order to keep our communities safe.
