Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is asking for the community’s assistance in identifying a male suspect wanted for a home invasion. Sheriff Lott states on June 21, 2007 at approximately 1:00 PM at 1601 Long Creek Drive a male suspect knocked on the door of a female victim and announced himself as maintenance -- the victim was in fact waiting for maintenance to come to her apartment. When the victim opened the door the suspect forced his way into the home, while pulling a handgun from his pocket. The victim ran back inside screaming for help and pleading with the suspect to spare her life. The suspect immediately turned around and fled the scene in an unknown direction. The suspect has been described as a black male and was seen wearing blue coveralls.
