Suspect sought for kidnapping, unlawful possession of a pistol

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced today that investigators have issued warrants for Ricardo Labruce Joseph (DOB 8-13-83) for two counts of pointing and presenting, two counts of kidnapping, two counts unlawful possession of a pistol and resisting arrest.     

Sheriff Lott stated that on April 15, 2008 Joseph went to 7727 Bluff Road, to his pregnant girlfriend’s place of business, and at gun-point abducted her (20 years old) and abducted her son (18 months old). Joseph was armed with a handgun and forced them into his car and drove them to his residence at 131 Condale Lane, Gadsden – deputies responded to Condale Lane, located Joseph and placed him under arrest. Joseph became violent and a physical altercation occurred between Joseph and deputies resulting in Joseph running into the woods. Sheriff Lott stated that two .40 caliber pistols were recovered at the scene, inside Joseph’s vehicle, and both victims were located unharmed.
