Richland County Sheriff's Department Community Action Team " Team up to Clean up" with Homeworks of America April Blitz 2008. Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announced the efforts of the Richland County Sheriff's Department Community Action Team and Homeworks organization teaming up to clean up and repair a home in their April 12th Blitz. Sheriff Lott invites you to come out and see first hand how people helping people can make such a difference in someone's life. Homeworks motto is "repairing homes and restoring hope". The event is scheduled for this Saturday April 12, 2008 at 204 Overland Drive in Columbia from 8:00 A.M. until the home repairs are complete. Sheriff Lott added the Richland County Sheriff's Department Youth Arbitration students also utilize Homeworks Projects in order to give back to their community which is the key element of what restorative justice is all about. "The mission of Home Works is to show God's love for all through service to others and to assist other in their faith journey. Home Works' activities will focus on providing home repairs to homeowners in need, assisting youth in their development and empowering communities to meet the needs of its members. Repairs are made within an ecumenical spirit evidenced by miracle after miracle. Individuals of all faith backgrounds join together to be of service to others.
