- Make sure there is a clear view from and to the street. Remove posters and stacked goods from windows.
- Use two clerks whenever possible.
- Greet customers when they come in and leave. Lets criminals know that the clerks are paying attention.
- Use bait money with recorded serial numbers at all times. Currency straps should have a current date.
- Keep cash to a minimum. Keep excess cash in a timed safe.
- Lock cash drawers whenever you leave your area.
- Use a video recorder with a good view of people in front of the register.
- Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of surveillance equipment.
