The Richland County Sheriff's Department Headquarters Information and Reporting Center is located within the main headquarters building at 5623 Two Notch Road in Columbia, South Carolina. The information and reporting center was designed to assist citizens on a personal and professional basis. The information center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and provides essential services to our communities. Sheriff Lott insists that each citizen receives the most attentive and personal service possible.

The Information and Reporting Center offers many services to the public. Immediately upon entering the Sheriff's Department you are greeted by the Information Center staff. This staff is responsible for answering all phone calls, relaying messages to the departmental staff as well as assisting every individual within the department. The Information and Reporting Center staff is comprised of a team of highly trained professionals who facilitate communication between citizens and the appropriate law enforcement services.

This team is responsible for assisting officers on the road with requests for contact with investigators, crime scene specialists and other operations throughout the department. Citizens can also request that special property checks be made on their residences through this office. Listed below are some examples of Special Property checks, which are valid for 10-day increments.

This is the system where stolen vehicles, license plates, missing persons as well as all state driving records are entered and accessed for law enforcement use only.
