Deputy Paul Sanguiliano was born in Plainfield, New Jersey and found his passion for law enforcement when he attended a junior police academy at 7 years old. Dep Sanguiliano attended Fairleigh Dickinson University where he majored in sociology and minored in psychology and criminology. After college he attended the Essex County Police Academy where he won the Physical Training Award and Leadership Award. After graduating the police academy he worked as a patrolman for a smaller city agency in central New Jersey where he won Police Officer of the Year and the Departmental Marksmanship Award. Dep. Sanguiliano came to RCSD in May of 2014 after moving to SC, and right away wanted to be part of the Community Action Team and the Special Response Team.

After working patrol in Region 7, he was lucky enough to accomplish his goal and be on both units. He enjoys the community action team and building relationships with the citizens of Richland County and taking a pro-active approach to addressing the concerns of the communities he serves.

Senior Deputy Garo Brown was born and raised in Amityville NY. He moved to Columbia SC in 1999, and started his Law enforcement career by earning a distinguished graduate award at the SCCJA as a class 1 officer in April of 2000. He is currently completing my degree in computer technology. Deputy Brown enjoys the CAT team as it uses a proactive approach to Law enforcement instead of a reactive approach. Getting out and speaking with community members and giving presentations on current issues are one of his favorite parts of the job.

Senior Deputy Selena Williams was born and raised in Winnsboro SC. She graduated from Fairfield Central High School in 2002. She received her certification in Medical Coding in 2002 but wanted to pursue her dream career in Law Enforcement. Deputy Williams was employed with Fairfield County Sheriff's Department as a 911 telecommunicator from 2003-2008. She began her dream job with Richland County Sheriff's Department in 2008. She is highly motivated, willing and ready to serve the communities of Richland County to the best of her abilities.

Senior Deputy Chris Mastrianni is from Derby, Ct. and has been with the Richland County Sheriff's Department since January 2013. Before joining RCSD, Deputy Mastrianni graduated from Western New England University in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. Deputy Mastrianni was a member of the Western New England University Wrestling Team for four years. Before joining the Community Action Team Deputy Mastrianni was assigned to Region Two as a Patrol Deputy. Deputy Mastrianni is highly motivated in making the communities in Richland County safer for everyone  by working closely with the citizens and addressing any concerns they may have.

Corporal Marcus Kim was born and raised in Columbia, SC. He graduated with a bachelors degree from the University of South Carolina. Dep. Kim began his career at the Sheriff's Department in 2007. He left the department for a short period and returned in May 2009. Deputy Kim was assigned to region 2 in 2009 and joined the Community Action Team in June of 2010.

Deputy Jason Cuzzupe was born and raised in Newtown Square, PA. He graduated from University of South Carolina in 2014 where he majored in Criminology and Criminal Justice; he also played lacrosse for USC. After college he pursued a career in law enforcement which was strongly influenced by having many family members in law enforcement in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Jason graduated the SCCJA in June of 2015. He spent the first year and a half of his career on patrol in region 2 before joining CAT.

Senior Deputy Shanita Grimes was born and raised in Summerville, SC.  She graduated with honors from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology in May 2013.  During her time in college, she enjoyed learning about the social stratification of various socioeconomic groups and how that impacts their lives on a daily basis.  She decided to make Columbia, SC home and began her career with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department during the fall of 2013.  She was assigned to Region Three as a patrol deputy and worked there before being transferred to the Community Action Team.  Some of her favorite activities on the Community Action Team involve speaking with the citizens of Richland County, addressing their concerns, and having an overall positive interaction with the community.

Senior Deputy Mohanad Gabr is from Cairo, Egypt.  Upon completion of his Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Cairo's Ain Shams University, Deputy Gabr worked for Wachovia Bank.  In 2007, he made the decision to pursue his dream career in law enforcement by joining the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. In his spare time, Deputy Gabr enjoys watching and playing soccer along with reading in either Arabic or English. Deputy Gabr is proud to serve on the Community Action Team.

Senior Deputy David Farr was born and raised in Chapin, SC. After graduating High School, he attended North Greenville University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Youth ministry. Sr. Deputy Farr became part of the Richland County Sheriff’s Department in November of 2012. Sr. Deputy Farr graduated from the SCCJA in September of 2013. For his first year of Law Enforcement in Richland County, he served in Region 4. In March of 2015, Sr. Deputy Farr was transferred to the Drug Suppression Team (DST) of Richland County. After serving on DST, Sr. Deputy Farr began serving in the Richland County Narcotics Division, July of 2015. Sr. Deputy Farr began serving on the Community Action Team, January 2016. Sr. Deputy Farr enjoys the Community Action Team as it gives him a better opportunity to have positive face to face time with the youth and their families of Richland County. Sr. Deputy’s Farr goal and passion each day is to positively impact the citizens and offenders of Richland County to change their behavior and view of Law Enforcement while aggressively and proactively enforcing the law.

Deputy Kelly Smith graduated from the SCCJA in 2014 as a class one officer. Before the Academy She worked part time in the records division while working on her Bachelor’s degree at The University of South Carolina Columbia. She graduated with a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Also while in college Kelly was also very active in sport playing college soccer for three years as well. With a great attitude and highly motivated, she has started her career and is now working on the CAT team.  Kelly is excited and works very hard to ensure the safety of others, as well as having positive interaction with her communities as well.

Senior Deputy Travis Roberts began his career in law enforcement as a Reserve Deputy in 2001 with the Richland County Sheriff's Department and came to the Department full time in October 2002.

Deputy Roberts graduated the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in February 2002 and was assigned to Region 6 as a patrol unit. He was promoted to Master Deputy in 2004 and then to Field Training Officer in 2005.Deputy Roberts left the Department in 2007 as a full time officer and remained active with the Department as a Reserve Deputy and returned full time to Region 7 in February 2009. Deputy Roberts came to the Community Action Team in October 2009.

Deputy Kevin Lawrence was born in Washington D.C. and moved to Aiken, South Carolina at a young age. Deputy Lawrence attended Charleston Southern University before starting with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office in 2004. In 2006 while at the New Ellenton Police Department Deputy Lawrence achieved the rank of Sergeant before leaving to join RCSD in 2007.While at RCSD Lawrence was assigned Region 1 in 2007 until he was promoted to the Community Action Team in June 2009. While in Region 1 Deputy Lawrence was awarded Deputy of the Quarter in March 2009. In 2010 Deputy Lawrence was awarded Deputy of the Year for the Community Services Division.
