Deputy Joel Buzhardt has been in law enforcement for 5 years and also worked 2 1/2 years in corrections.  He has been employed with the Richland County Sheriffs Department since February of 2010. Before coming to Richland County he worked with the Town of Batesburg-Leesville Police Department.

Deputy Chavis Hall is a 22 year United States Army retired veteran. He is a graduate of Northwestern University with a degree is history.  Dep Hall joined Richland County Sheriff Department in 2007. He is married to the former Katrina Levins, both are originally from Tampa, Fl. they have five children.  He enjoys spending time with family, going to church, and working out.  Before joining C. A. T. in June 2011 he served as a deputy in region six, a SRO at Blythewood Middle School and he is a current member of the Special Response Team.

Master Deputy Raul Ortiz is originally from Puerto Rico. He served as a member of the Civil Defense and was a part of helping during several Hurricane hits on the island. Deputy Ortiz moved to South Carolina and started at the Sheriff’s Department in June 2002, where he worked as a Court House Deputy and prisoner transport.  He was assigned to Region 6 in 2004 and became a part of CAT in July of 2006. Deputy Ortiz is one of the main Spanish interpreters for the department and works closely with the Spanish community.

Sr. Deputy Margaret Fisher is a Columbia native and graduated from Midlands Technical College in 1995 with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. She began her career with the Richland County Sheriff's Department as a Reserve Deputy in 2007. In January 2008 she was hired as a full-time deputy and was assigned to the Region 2 area. She is also a member of the RCSD's Mounted Patrol Unit as well the Sheriff's Posse.

Deputy Marcus Kim was born and raised in Columbia, SC. He graduated with a bachelors degree from the University of South Carolina. Dep. Kim began his career at the Sheriff's Department in 2007. He left the department for a short period and returned in May 2009. Deputy Kim was assigned to region 2 in 2009 and joined the Community Action Team in June of 2010.

Deputy DuJuan Council began his law enforcement career with the South Carolina Department of Corrections and was assigned to the Special Investigations Unit.  He served with SCDC for six years before making a career advancement to become a deputy sheriff with the Richland County. Deputy Council is an active community mentor for at-risk youth in the Columbia area and assists with the R.E.A.D.Y program within the Sheriff’s Department.  Deputy Council is assigned to the Region 3 communities from Interstate 20 out towards Blythewood and Fairfield.

Deputy Aubree Torres was born in Honolulu, Hawaii but moved around as an Army brat for the majority of her childhood and teenage years. Deputy Torres moved to Columbia in 2003 and is a recent graduate from Limestone College earning a B.A. in Criminal Justice. Deputy Torres started her career with RCSD in 2008 and served as a deputy in Region 3 before joining C.A.T in 2011. Deputy Torres is a RCSD women's self defense instructor and an active member of the Special Response Team.

Deputy Mohanad Gabr is from Cairo, Egypt.  Upon completion of his Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Cairo's Ain Shams University, Deputy Gabr worked for Wachovia Bank.  In 2007, he made the decision to pursue his dream career in law enforcement by joining the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. In his spare time, Deputy Gabr enjoys watching and playing soccer along with reading in either Arabic or English.  Deputy Gabr is married and they are the proud parents of a little boy.  Because he and his wife value making a positive contribution to the world, Deputy Gabr is proud to serve on the Community Action Team.

Deputy Henry Owens started his career with RCSD in August of 2005 after receiving his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice at Midlands Technical College. He graduated from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in July of 2006 at which time he began working in Region 4 as a patrol officer. In 2009 he was promoted to Master Deputy in Region 4. Deputy Owens came to the Community Action Team in October 2011 and is assigned to the inbound Region 4 area.

Deputy Chris Potter began his career with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department in April 1997. He has worked as a Field Training Officer, Master Deputy, Corporal, and Senior Corporal in Region’s 6 and 7. He is now on the Community Action Team and is assigned to Region 6.

Deputy Travis Roberts began his career in law enforcement as a Reserve Deputy in 2001 with the Richland County Sheriff's Department and came to the Department full time in October 2002.

Deputy Roberts graduated the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in February 2002 and was assigned to Region 6 as a patrol unit. He was promoted to Master Deputy in 2004 and then to Field Training Officer in 2005.Deputy Roberts left the Department in 2007 as a full time officer and remained active with the Department as a Reserve Deputy and returned full time to Region 7 in February 2009. Deputy Roberts came to the Community Action Team in October 2009.
