Senior Deputy Scott Stover began his career with the Sheriff's Department in late 2001 as a Reserve Deputy and soon after became a full time Deputy. Prior to, he spent 14 years in the SC Fire Service. Scott is a certified instructor through both the SC Criminal Justice Academy and SC Fire Academy, instructor with the Verbal Judo Institute, a Crime Prevention Specialist and an Alumnus of the SC Victims Assistance Academy. Additionally he serves on the Crisis Negotiations Unit and the Bike Patrol. Area of responsibility - Region 1,

Deputy Garo Brown
was born in Amityville New York but moved to
South Carolina in 2000. He started his Law Enforcement career with
Richland County Sheriff's Department in 2000 and is currently working on
completing his associates degree in Computer Technology. Brown's hobbies
are Fitness and building R.C. Cars.

Deputy Kevin Stegall
is a graduate of Delta State University in Mississippi, a 17-year veteran
of the United States Air Force and currently serving in the Air Force
Reserve. He has served in many operations to include being brought to
active duty following the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and the Oklahoma City
bombing. Deputy Stegall began working for Richland County in 2005 and became a
member of CAT in March of 2007. |

Deputy Marcus Kim
was born and raised in
Columbia, SC. He graduated with a bachelors degree from the University of
South Carolina. Dep. Kim began his career at the Sheriff's Department in
2007. He left the department for a short period and returned in May 2009.
Deputy Kim was assigned to region 2 in 2009 and joined the Community
Action Team in June of 2010.

Senior Deputy Raul Ortiz is originally from Puerto Rico. He served as a member of the Civil Defense and was a part of helping during several Hurricane hits on the island. Deputy Ortiz moved to South Carolina and started at the Sheriff’s Department in June 2002, where he worked as a Court House Deputy and prisoner transport. He was assigned to Region 6 in 2004 and became a part of CAT in July of 2006. Deputy Ortiz is one of the main Spanish interpreters for the department and works closely with the Spanish community. Senior Deputy L. Adams-
began his career with the Department of Corrections. He later transferred
to the SC Highway Patrol where he worked as a trooper for 6 1/2 years. He
has been with the department since 2004. He was formerly assigned to the

Deputy Kevin Lawrence was born in Washington D.C. and moved to Aiken, South Carolina at a young age. Deputy Lawrence attended Charleston Southern University before starting with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office in 2004. In 2006 while at the New Ellenton Police Department Deputy Lawrence achieved the rank of Sergeant before leaving to join RCSD in 2007.While at RCSD Lawrence was assigned Region 1 in 2007 until he was promoted to the Community Action Team in June 2009. While in Region 1 Deputy Lawrence was awarded Deputy of the Quarter in March 2009.

Deputy Travis Pittman
is originally from Summerville, South
Carolina. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a
Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice/ Liberal Arts. He is also a graduate
of The Citadel's Police Corps Program. Deputy Pittman is married with one
child. Deputy Pittman began with the Sheriff's Department in July of 2002
and is assigned to the outbound Region four area.

Senior Deputy Steven Tapler is a graduate from the University of South Carolina with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. He is now completing his Graduate Studies in Criminology at the University of South Carolina. Deputy Tapler joined the Sheriff’s Department in 2006 and was selected on the C.A.T. team in October of 2007. Cell - (803)

Deputy Santana Robbins was born and raised in Columbia, and has a Bachelor’s Degree from University of South Carolina in Criminal Justice and Psychology. Deputy Robbins has worked for the Sheriff’s Department for the past two years as a school resource officer. She is currently a member of Richland County’s Special Response Team, and has been a member of the South Carolina State Guard for 5 years. In June 2009, Deputy Robbins was selected to be part of the prestigious Community Action Team C.A.T.

Senior Deputy Christina Pope is originally from New York City and a graduate
of Piedmont Technical College/Associates Degree in Public Service. She is
currently pursuing Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice at South
University. She has been with the Sheriff's Department since June 2004.
